Egrets

Design by Mark Waterbury
A 24" x 36-1/2" stained glass panel. Careful glass selection is the key to capturing this scene of birds flying just ahead of a magnificent sunset and its reflection. The distinctive border effect was created using copper foil overlay and brass rods. The smaller, more intricate pieces required for the wings of the birds make this project, which is constructed using the copper foil technique, more appropriate for intermediate to advanced crafters. The pattern in this issue can be enlarged, or full-sized pattern #141 may be purchased from Glass Patterns Quarterly.
