A Pattern Bar is a glass rod or bar that has an internal design, much like a jelly roll, that can be viewed when sliced. The technique is several thousand years old dating back to the ancient Egyptians and other early glass makers. One of the signature variations Gil Reynolds came up with back in the 1980’s is called the Flow Bar. These are made by placing obstacles in the way of the glass flowing into a reservoir which creates a wide range of unique designs. In this fast paced webinar you will learn all you need to know to make exciting Flow Bars yourself. Gil will cover the basic set-ups, designing the pattern, glass choices, firing schedules, annealing, slicing and different ways to incorporate these beautiful glass components into your fused glass art.
