One of the most common safety hazards found near kilns is clutter, which creates a fire hazard. A kiln room should always be free of flammable materials such as paper artwork, cardboard, and wooden cabinets and shelves. It should also have a large enough space to keep the kiln from overheating the area surrounding it.
